Do you know what naringin is

Oct 12 2021

Naringin is a complex of glucose, rhamnose and naringin. It is white to light yellow crystalline powder. Normally, it contains 6 to 8 crystal waters and has a melting point of 83°C. Dry to constant weight at 110°C to obtain crystals containing 2 crystal waters, with a melting point of 171°C. Naringin can be used as an edible additive, mainly for gum, refreshing drinks, etc.

Physical and chemical properties: Naringin is a complex of glucose, rhamnose and naringin. It is white to light yellow crystalline powder. Normally, it contains 6 to 8 crystal waters and has a melting point of 83°C. Dry to constant weight at 110°C to obtain crystals containing 2 crystal waters, with a melting point of 171°C. Naringin has an extremely bitter taste, and an aqueous solution with a concentration of 20 mg/kg still has a bitter taste.

Naringin is slightly soluble in water and easily soluble in hot water, ethanol, acetone and warm glacial acetic acid. There are phenolic hydroxyl groups in the structure, and its aqueous solution is weakly acidic. The product "Citrantin dihydrochalcone" after hydrolysis and hydrogenation is a sweetener with a sweetness of more than 150 times that of sucrose.
